Dear Precinct Four Voters: I announced I was running for Constable in January 2011. That campaign ended yesterday, and while the result was not as I had hoped, Yolanda and I want to thank you for your friendship and support during the past fifteen months. We were humbled time and time again by friends, family and strangers alike who contributed their own time, talent and money to this campaign. We will never forget it. The end of this campaign, of course, will not mark the end of my involvement in our community. After a brief rest, I look forward to rededicating myself to our southeast Travis County community and the Democratic Party. I would like to congratulate Constable Canchola and her supporters on their victory. I hope our spirited, but always positive, campaign raised important issues that will help foster greater innovation and community engagement. I called Maria directly this morning to offer my congratulations and support.
